Local Owners/Developers may submit hotel development plans on property other than University-owned property. The University will review submissions on this type as a standard course of business.

The DRAFT market survey is still under review and the University is investigating options for hotel development. Additional information will be posted as soon as it is available.

The University has received a first DRAFT of a market survey for hotel development on or around the Storrs UConn campus, which is currently under review. It is anticipated that additional information will be posted by the end of June 2016.

The University of Connecticut remains confident that there is sufficient market interest in – and demand for – development of a hotel by the private sector, in proximity to, or on, the University’s Storrs campus. The number of developers who approached the University with ideas over the last several months has confirmed the interest.
Almost all of the developers asked the same two questions:
- What does the University want from a hotel?
- Has the University conducted a market analysis?
In response to these consistent questions, UConn commissioned a market study that will explore internal and external demand for lodging, dining, and other services. It is anticipated that a DRAFT of this survey will be delivered to the University in early May 2016.
The University will determine a process and schedule to guide the hotel initiative and will post additional information on this website no later than May 31, 2016.
After April 15, 2016, the University will no longer consider information submitted in response to the notice posted previously:
